Come help First Citizens build for the future!The Aerospace, Defense, and Government Finance business ("ADG") within First Citizens Bank is a middle market banking franchise focused on providing customer financing and banking solutions to clients within the ADG sectors in the U.S. and select foreign borrowers. ADG typically finances multiple aviation asset classes under asset-backed loan structures as well as lends under cash flow structures to borrowers in the US government and defense sectors secured by all assets of a borrower's enterprise. Transaction sizes range from $15 million to $1 billion with ADG hold sizes up to $100MM.The business is hiring a Commercial Banking Intern - Summer Analyst to support their financial analysis and industry research efforts. The summer internship program is designed to provide an opportunity for students to apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while delivering tangible value to the organization, as well as gaining valuable work experience. Interns will be assigned to live transactions and will be exposed to leading industry players, lenders, and investors, gaining insight into transaction processes and deal execution.ResponsibilitiesCash flow modeling in Excel incorporating various ADG loan structures and borrower projectionsDue diligence of clients including company and industry analysisAssisting in the preparation of internal credit memorandumPreparation of marketing materials for potential clients and other lendersWork as part of a Deal Team on live transactions, engaged in many aspects of credit underwriting and portfolio management, financial analysis, and credit memo preparationParticipate in internal credit approval meetings and client/customer calls, as appropriate.Attend professional development sessions, informational sessions, networking and community service eventsInternship dates: 5/28/2025 - 8/01/2025QualificationsRequired qualifications:High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experienceCurrently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during the time of the summer program)Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program0 GPA or higherPreferred qualifications:3 years of college experience (a rising senior)Major in finance, accounting, or economicsStrong verbal and written communication skillsInterest in aerospace, defense, and government financingThe base pay for this position is generally between $22.44 and $34.32. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
