JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking an Operations/Manufacturing Engineer to join a premier ammunition manufacturer for the United States Military. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and updating operator procedures, addressing daily production issues, researching and designing systems for continuous improvement, investigating equipment failures and making recommendations, coordinating with external customers, and developing and maintaining process layouts. You will work onsite at the Texarkana, TX facility, ensuring the safe and high-quality production of ammunition for the U.S. Military. Under general supervision, you will perform engineering design activities, including the development of engineering deliverables and specifications for assigned contracts, prepare quotation requests and purchase orders for equipment and materials, and undertake field assignments and factory inspections to ensure compliance with specifications. Additionally, you will apply industry-accepted engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Applies engineering industry accepted engineering techniques/procedures and criteria. Additional Job responsibilities are below:
- Support manufacturing processes by performing general engineering duties encompassing the preparation of studies, drafts, specifications, cost and scheduling. documents. Sets priorities and executes daily responsibilities of multiple manufacturing processes and produce.
- May communicate project needs, schedules and activities to include, but not limited to, Project Management, Proposal Writing and Budgeting.
- Prepare and update operator procedures for shop floor and address daily production related issues on shop floor.
- Assist with taking projects from inception to production, on-time and within budget.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education/Not Necessary: Bachelor’s Degree (Ind Tech, Ind Eng, Mech, Electric, Manufacturing, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret various drawings and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Lean Manufacturing Methods and Techniques (Hands-on).
- Cost Estimating and Facilities Planning.
- Microsoft Projects / Office / Daily
- Licenses/ Registrations: Valid driver's license. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Successfully pass a background check and drug screen
PLUSSES
- Length of Experience: 5+ years experience in manufacturing engineering (preferred).
- PLC's, Robotic Programming, DOE, Project Management, ISO Auditor)
- Knowledge in Word, Access, Excel, AutoCAD, 3D Modeling, Outlook, SAP and other software programs as needed.
