DEA is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Project Engineer with expertise in site design projects to join our dynamic land development team based in Tustin, CA . As a Civil Engineer focused on site design, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing various aspects of land development projects. This role requires a strong foundation in civil engineering principles, proficiency in relevant design software, and the ability to contribute to project success through innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Site Planning and Design:
    • Apply civil engineering principles to develop comprehensive site plans for various projects.
    • Conduct site layout, grading, drainage, utility design, and other site development activities.
  2. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
    • Facilitate the permitting process and coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed.
  3. Technical Proficiency:
    • Utilize design software (such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD) to create detailed plans and drawings.
    • Perform calculations related to grading, stormwater management, and utility systems.
  4. Client Interaction:
    • Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and objectives.
    • Provide regular updates on project progress and address client concerns or inquiries.
  5. Project Management:
    • Develop project schedules, budget estimates, and identify critical milestones.
    • Coordinate with project teams and other stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  6. Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct thorough reviews of design plans to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
    • Implement quality control measures throughout the design process.

Qualifications:

  1. Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  2. Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a focus on site design projects.
  3. Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other relevant design software.
    • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utility design, and site layout principles.
  4. Communication:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and regulatory agencies.
  5. Problem Solving:
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and develop innovative solutions.
    • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  6. Professional Certification:
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license
