Automation/Process Engineer - Manufacturing Technology/Corporate

The Automation/Process Engineer is responsible for developing methods, tools, automated assembly processes, and product variants in fabricated glass systems focusing on priming and post attachment of a variety of bonded components as well as soldering applications. This role will support Carlex facilities throughout the United States.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Develop new material applications and processes.
• Design methods to ensure product quality.
• Collaboratively support all Carlex manufacturing facilities
• Support outside/subcontracted assembly operations.
• Implement and report on testing results and manufacturing process improvements.
• Work with suppliers, tooling manufactures, process equipment manufactures and Plant personnel on new technology and process improvements in areas of priming, bonding, soldering and automotive glass assembly processes.
• Support new equipment and process layouts for new program launches.
• Conduct training with plant personnel on priming, bonding, soldering and assembly principles and practical applications.
• Establish the definition of testing requirements, standards and protocols to meet internal and external requirements for priming, bonding and soldering.
• Identify and implement Poka-yokes for error proofing.
• Study and rearrange material flow and operations sequence
• Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
• Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product.
• Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material and utilities.
• Define new testing methods or protocols for new products.
• Interpret a variety of customer specifications.
• Brainstorm improved products and processes.
