POSITION OVERVIEW:
This organization is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer for Data Platform to play a crucial role in leading data platform design, implementation, and support. The Data Office is leading a central Data Modernization program that includes new data capabilities and improvements across multiple agencies.
The ideal candidate has expertise in the administration, configuration, and support of data platform services. They will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure understanding and collaborative solutions. This role is responsible for managing cloud data platform services, ensuring data security, and supporting data governance processes.
DETAILED LIST OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer, configure, and support cloud database services.
- Implement and support cloud applications and AWS services.
- Manage data applications access, security, and permissions.
- Collaborate with teams to design and implement scalable, high-performing cloud data solutions.
- Evaluate new cloud products for efficient data storage and processing.
- Monitor cloud data service performance and implement optimization measures.
- Establish regular system performance assessments and action plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of experience in implementing and supporting cloud-based data solutions.
- 5+ years of cloud database platform experience, especially with Snowflake.
- Experience with AWS and other cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with SQL, PL/SQL, and Linux shell scripting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience:
- AWS and Snowflake certifications.
