Sr Tech Lead - IST Engineering

Summary:

The Integrated Solutions organization within Digital Electronics is responsible for ensuring Wabtec products and external systems work together as a solution that reliably achieves customer objectives. This is accomplished by working across business units within Digital Electronics to understand and document the solution requirements, establish, and document interface points, flow down requirements, and validate the final solution. The Senior Technical Lead – IST Engineering for DE’s Integrated Solutions team will be responsible for the integration testing of the solution and stewardship of the quality of the integrated solution as delivered to the customer. Will lead in design, development and maintenance of integration test plans, test procedures, and test automation tools at the solution level and driving the execution of the plan by working with cross-product or cross-system experts across the solutions scope meeting the customer requirements with a strong FPY.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Technical Lead – IST Engineering will be leading both onsite and offshore team of test engineers and will be contributing to designing, developing and facilitating high quality integration test processes in a fast-paced environment, as well as supporting and enhancing the entire solution development life cycle, and be responsible for:

• Leading a team of onsite/offshore test engineers and facilitating test engineering and process improvement activities such as: Development of integrated solutions test plans, test procedures, and test automation tools used in the validation of the integrated solutions that are delivered to the Railroad customers
• Attending and participating in Solution level Requirements, individual System Requirements, Operational scenario, and architecture/design reviews:
• Development and maintenance of detailed Integration Test plans for key solutions aligning with the project plans and schedules
• Development and maintenance of detailed integrated solution test procedures, and test automation tools.
• Test execution and results reporting.
• Test results reviews and defects disposition.
• Resource allocation and scheduling.
• Supporting various process audits.
• Supporting the leadership in estimation process for IST scope for various projects and support the overall RFI/RFP responses.
• Acting as a technical mentor and coach to the other test engineers across the DE organization to help build a strong pipeline of talent
• Closely working with the senior management on organizational initiatives around culture and speed, embrace the initiatives to become the change agent and act as a role model for the other engineers

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science or electrical engineering or information technology
• 4-6 years of professional experience in software testing principles, verification and validation areas.
• 2+ years of technical leadership of an engineering team with experience in resource allocation and scheduling (Preferred).
• Experience in Test Automation technologies and scripting tools.
• Experience working with Requirements Management Tools such as CML, Doors, Doors Next Gen etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to present and articulate ideas in a clear and concise manner to both customers and Wabtec leadership.
• Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment.
• Systems design, operations, and integration experience
• Broad railroad experience pertaining to locomotive technologies, operations and operating practices of the railroads, and broad skill areas related to hardware, software, mechanical design as well as communications and infrastructure (Preferred).
• Locomotive Systems Design Experience (Preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
