NON-BARGAINING UNIT EXEMPT
BASIC FUNCTION
Under the primary direction of the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Systems Analyst/Developer is responsible for working with key users to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions by leveraging enterprise applications. Serve as primary support lead for two or more enterprise applications. Support entails evaluating requests, working with IT service areas as appropriate to explore possible solutions, set up/configuration of solution, training of end users, work with vendors providing support, and keeping up with new features of applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work alongside all IT service areas to support Microsoft 365 collaboration tools optimized to meet the needs of the business and its users.
  • Use process automation platform to build basic workflows to streamline business processes.
  • Serve as primary forms administrator, including managing user accounts, primary form developer, and working with key users to train them to create and maintain their forms.
  • Provide training and create documentation for end-users to help them effectively use applications.
  • Serve as IT contact, on an as needed basis, for a number of vendor supported SaaS applications including but not limited to emergency management and student support services systems.
  • Continual development of skills and abilities regarding assigned applications, functional modules, and necessary technical skills.
  • Work closely with others throughout all IT service areas and functional areas of the institutions to implement, maintain and support solutions that have a high degree of quality and meet institutional and system needs.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, consultants and others while supporting and developing applications.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for service requests.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Reports directly to the Director of Enterprise Applications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field with at least three (3) years of experience in program analysis and design or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
    Previous experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of Office 365 applications and services.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in a technical support role, preferably with Formstack or similar applications.
  • Foundational understanding of PowerShell, Active Directory, and Office 365 admin center.
  • Relevant entry level and intermediate Microsoft certifications.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, APIs, and troubleshooting techniques

  • Experience assessing and improving business processes
  • Database management and/or administration principles

  • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting technological platforms and systems
  • Utilizing and managing databases
  • Communicating technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Managing projects and timelines
  • Creating system user documentation
  • Developing and facilitating training sessions
  • Evaluating and designing new systems and applying them to new or existing business processes
  • Reading and interpreting technical manuals
  • Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions
Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to be an exceptional communicator through both oral and written means
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals within the Vermont State Colleges System; success and capacity to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to meet the needs of college-level students and staff from diverse academic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Excellent analytical skills; good planning, organization and administrative skills.
  • Willingness to both share and receive knowledge and skills with others
  • Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of end users, in person, and remotely.

Location: This position may be based on any of the Vermont State College System's campuses or could be 100% remote.
