Project Engineer - East CoastEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledSUMMARY: Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepares and maintains project schedule.Prepares required project submittals and maintains submittal log.Tracks productivity on various project activities. Reports to Operations daily.Maintains project RFI logs and change order logs.Prepares Change Order documentation and pricing.Maintains survey files for various activities.Prepares and tracks monthly pay estimates.Maintains correspondence logs.Prepares monthly actual vs. budget reports.Assists in project control, survey and layout.Prepare monthly estimated cost and revenue at completion reports.Calculates revenue at completion (delivery changes and extended quantity variations).Prepares monthly cash flow to completion.COMPETENCIES:Communications: ability to produce clear status reports, writes clearly, communicates tactfully and candidly, exhibits clear verbal skills and an excellent listener.Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in Engineering or Construction Managementand least three years experience with project engineering in Marine Construction or Dredging; or equivalent combination of education and experienceLanguage Ability: strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers.Reasoning Ability: ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Computer Skills: to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and experience with Excel.Physical Presence: Regular and predictable physical presence at assigned work location is an essential qualification for this position due to the importance of the team-related aspects of the essential duties, the aggressive timeframes under which the employee will operate, and the need for face-to-face interaction with employees in order to properly perform job-related functions.Ability to travel, as needed, for projects. Regular schedule is 19 days on, 9 days off.
