POSITION OBJECTIVE
As the Field Engineer, you are responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and onsite execution of civil, mining, and tunneling projects, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to safety protocols. In this position, you will provide technical support, monitor project progress, and assist with problem-solving on-site. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, and a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the engineering staff daily to produce regulatory plans, drawings, and work required for current or upcoming projects.
- Spend time in the field with on-site supervision to assist in maintaining inventories.
- Ensure regulatory paperwork is completed
- Aiding in establishing engineering controls as well as quality control.
- Manage crews and equipment so that production goals for the job can be met with absolute zero tolerance for unsafe work practices.
- Provide job deliverables to customers as required.
- Help safety manager and others with regulatory plans and approvals.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- 2-4+ years of related experience in engineering
- Experience in mining, grading, and tunneling, highly preferred
- MSHA New Miner Training, bonus
- Bachelor in Engineering with strong civil construction aptitude
- Working knowledge in AutoCAD, Microsoft Projects and Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; intermediate general computer skills
- Flexible, adaptable approach; ability to adjust to changing business conditions and learn new processes
- Ability to work with limited supervision and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts and departments
- Utilize problem-solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
