Job Title: Software Developer (JAVA Frontend, Angular)

Duration: 12 months contract (W2)

Location: San Diego, CA

Duties:

Come join the TurboTax Online Globalization team as a Sr Software Engineer contractor. The TurboTax Online team develops high-volume customer facing experiences that are leveraged by Intuit customers to complete their tax returns. The TurboTax Online team is on the leading edge of front-end experience development at Intuit, working with product managers to deliver amazing user experiences.

The ideal candidate is a Sr Software Engineer who is an expert at front-end JavaScript development, particularly with Angular. This engineer should be familiar with Java and prepared to work at all levels of the application. They will be directly responsible for the design, development, testing, maintenance, and documentation of high-volume customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

1. Successful delivery of front-end applications using JavaScript/ReactJS/Redux.
2. Development of customer-facing applications from design through implementation.
3. Act in a technical leadership capacity: Mentoring junior engineers, new team members, and applying technical expertise to challenging programming and design problems.
4. Roughly 70-85% hands-on coding.
5. Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.
6. Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams: product management, QA/QE, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results.
7. Contribute to the design and architecture of the project.
8. Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies.

Skills:

1. 7+ years’ experience developing web front-end applications using JavaScript.
2. 5+ years of Angular, ReactJS/Redux/JavaScript (ES2015+)/CSS/HTML.
3. 2+ years of Java.
4. Experience with i18n and l10n is a big plus.
5. 5+ years developing unit tests using Mocking and/or Test Driven Development in JavaScript.
6. History of full-stack delivery.
7. Experience with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
8. Solid communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
9. Strong understanding of the Software design/architecture process.
10. Experience with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD).
11. Passion for growing and applying technical skills in service to customers.
12. May be on-call for urgent issues.
13. Internationalization or localization is a huge plus.
14. Bilingual is a huge plus.

Rate/Salary: 90-95/hr
