The Developer works under general supervision and will develop, test, debug and document software components commensurate with their experience under the supervision of more senior development staff in support of a software engineering effort.

Essential Job Functions

  1. As part of a group, review and analyze process, system and/or data requirements and specifications.
  2. Review and contribute to component designs for a project, product and/or program.
  3. Build, test, deploy, and document software components of a project, product, and/or program level solution.
  4. Interface with other team members and other teams in peer review of requirements, specifications and software.
  5. Document and communicate development status in a timely manner.
  6. Participate in the collaborative resolution of defects.
  7. Participate in internal process improvement initiatives. Provide feedback on processes by offering suggestions.
  8. Assist with adherence to technology policies and comply with all security controls.
  9. Ensure all work products meets/exceeds FINRA standards.

Education/Experience Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with at least two (2) years of related experience, or equivalent training and/or work experience.
  2. Demonstrated technical expertise in Object Oriented and database technologies/concepts which resulted in deployment of enterprise quality solutions.
  3. Past experience with developing enterprise quality solutions in an iterative or Agile environment.
  4. Broad knowledge of industry leading software engineering approaches including Test Automation, Build Automation and Configuration Management frameworks.
  5. Emerging written and verbal technical communication skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships that improved the quality of work products.
  7. Should be well organized, thorough, and able to handle competing priorities.
  8. Ability to maintain focus and develop proficiency in new skills rapidly.
  9. Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  10. Knowledge of C++ programming language preferred.

Work Conditions

  1. Work is normally performed in an office environment.
  2. Occasional travel and extended hours may be required.
