Their structural engineers design customized systems for new facilities and expansions, while their civil teams handle comprehensive site and infrastructure design. Their investigative engineers support existing projects with repairs, renovations, and improvements. Operating with nine office locations and over 300 staff members, Our Client works across the United States and internationally.

Position Overview:

Our Client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer for their Lakewood, Colorado office. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on nationally recognized projects in cutting-edge industry markets, including aerospace, data centers, semiconductors, heavy industrial, and manufacturing sectors. Candidates will manage projects and budgets with fees ranging from $20k to over $1.1M. The position promises exciting and impactful work and requires strong technical, coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills. This role allows the candidate to contribute to shaping the future of advanced industries while developing their career in a supportive and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage engineering and technician staff to complete projects effectively.
  • Coordinate structural design scope in-house and with other consultants.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with clients and contractors throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans.
  • Act as a mentor and resource for less-experienced staff, supporting their career development.
  • Attend project meetings and represent Our Client during design and construction.
  • Take an active role in developing and maintaining client relationships.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Minimum of 9 years of progressive engineering experience (MSCE/MSAE counts as 1 year; passing the 16-hour SE exam also counts as 1 year).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities beneficial to the company’s future.
  • Experience managing projects in advanced industries (Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Data Center, Manufacturing).
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Experience working within schedules and budgets.
  • Ability to learn owner processes and coordinate process needs.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with other disciplines.
  • Good understanding of Architectural, MEP, and Civil systems and their impact on structural work.
  • PE license in the State of Colorado or the ability to obtain one within three months.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Experience designing and managing advanced-industries projects from design through construction.
  • Demonstrated effective internal and external communication skills.
  • Advanced project management skills.
  • Experience managing large projects and budgets.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Experience engaging with owners on delays, feasibility issues, and other potential project challenges.
