CNC Machinist/Programmer

Programs CNC Mills and EDM machines, machines parts and components. Reports to the Production Manager.

Essential Functions

1. Set up CNC machines to run low-volume jobs on Haas mills and Sodick Wire EDMs.
2. Learn and develop 4-axis and 5-axis machining strategies on CNC mills.
3. Follow ISO9001 processes.
4. Maintain machines to keep them in good running condition.
5. Keep the machine shop area clean, organized and safe.
6. Give input to make incremental improvements in manufacturing methods.
7. Learn and grow your skills in layout, programming, set-up and inspection.
8. Be teachable, work independently, and work safely.
9. Strong communication skills (comprehension, asking clarifying questions, relaying information correctly to colleagues).
10. Clear communication through email, texts, phone, and notes.
11. A gentle approach with small, delicate parts.
12. Be dependable, have integrity in your work, and own your mistakes.
13. Understand 2-D part prints, and use of basic measurement devices.
14. Must be willing to work on defense-related projects.
15. Pass a background check.
16. Solid mechanical aptitude (interested in how things work).

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with EspritCAD-CAM and/or BobCadCAM.
2. Experience using manual machines: Bridgeport and Surface Grinder.

Education & Experience Requirements

High School or Equivalent.

Clean, climate-controlled environment with a flexible schedule.
