Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and sof tware, requires a combination of te chn ical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, a seasoned Network Engineer who knows how to develop the exact network DoD needs.

As a Network Engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, virtual routing and forwarding to support the nation’s defense and resp ond to evolving adversaries. You’ll develop enterprise-wide infrastructure design, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems. You’ll apply your expertise in routing and switching, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, virtual routing, and forwarding as you guide our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and te chn ologies. Your knowledge of enterprise level network protocols, equipment, emerging te chn ology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in sof tware and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware, Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper hardware, optical infrastructure networking, and virtual routing and forwarding you’ll serve as a t rus ted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your te chn ical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have:

6+ years of experience with network engineering and the design of IT systems or networks for large commer cia l enterprises or government agencies

4+ years of experience with leading teams of te chn ical staff in the design, build, and integration of IT solutions

Experience with routing protocols and topologies, including BGP, MPLS, VRF, or VPN te chn ologies, including IPsec, GRE, DMVPN, or VRRP

E xperience with c ond ucting network discovery, including analyzing and documenting system requirements

Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure in multi-region and environments

Ability to communicate effectively with both te chn ical and non-te chn ical personnel, be detail oriented, and multitask and prioritize

HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

Experience with designing and implementing Cloud-native and over the top networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP

Experience with firewall design and network security, including Device Hardening, int rus ion detection systems and int rus ion prevention systems, SIEM, Firewalls, and Internet Protocol Security, vulnerability assessment, and int rus ion detection

Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and F5 Load Balancers

Knowledge of DoD IT and Cloud security policies , including STIGs and DoD Cloud SRG, and applying them to the design and implementation of Cloud solutions

Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, prior publications, and speaking e nga gements in industry or vendor forums

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
