ONSITE IN PORTLAND
Electrical Generalist serves as the single point of contact for the department regarding software and hardware issues related to assigned tasks, typically involving one or more electronic control units (ECUs) in vehicles. This role involves investigating hardware/software issues in test trucks, supporting manufacturing and field-related topics, facilitating issue assignments, and gathering necessary data to triage issues to resolution.
Additionally, this position supports all vehicle commissioning activities, including updates to test benches, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems, test vehicles, and golden vehicles. The responsible individual will ensure ECUs are updated correctly, verify parameter settings, and confirm that vehicle configurations align with the documentation and datasets provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate updates for one or multiple ECUs.
- Ensure documentation of software and parameter settings meets vehicle configuration requirements.
- Troubleshoot and triage issues related to assigned ECUs.
- Support correct system and feature functionality during vehicle commissioning.
- Assist with HIL updates.
- Review test truck specifications for accuracy.
- Provide troubleshooting support to manufacturing and field teams.
Skills:
- General electrical and electronic troubleshooting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle features and functions.
- Understanding of vehicle electrical and electronic architectures.
- Experience in flashing ECU software and parameters according to specifications.
- Familiarity with issue tracking tools and processes, such as Jira.
- Proficiency with CAN tools like CANalyzer and CANape.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience required.
