Job Summary
The Corp Technical Solutions Engineer will work as a technical specialist who will focus on solution development and testing in physical and virtual lab environments. The Corp Technical Solutions Engineer will work with pre-sales engineering, cloud, and services teams to understand go-to-market strategy and customer needs to design and development integrated solutions that demonstrates technology capabilities and outcomes. The Solutions Engineer will report to a Solutions Director or a Regional Solutions Manager. This position is a hybrid work position based out of SHI NJ HQ location in Somerset, NJ.

Responsibilities
Include, but not limited to:
- Design and implement physical and virtual lab environments to support innovation and solution development, proof of concepts, technology evaluation, and technical training.
- Create reference architectures, technology performance reports, white papers, and other materials to demonstrate technical expertise to help customers with technology selection and deployment.
- Partner with customer technical and architectural teams to collaborate on use cases and challenges to design and develop architectures and solutions to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with sales, technical, and services teams to drive solution development and innovation.
- Strengthen our technical relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and strategic/emerging partners to increase knowledge, provide feedback, and be considered for beta programs to better serve our customers with best current product information.
- Educate internal teams and customers on technology performance, integrations, and architectures through 1x1 training, team training and company training.
- Conduct product and solution training and positioning for the Sales team and customer.
- Stay current on new technology, trends, and market behavior by studying market trend and the industry landscape.
- Maintain vendor accreditations and certifications related to strategic and emerging partnerships.
- Self-study and independent work in lab facilities to increase job related knowledge and skills.
- Obtain technical certifications as needed for specific projects as dictated by management.
- Provide Lab Tour for customers and sales
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience within production data centers or lab facilities
- Experience with broad sets of cloud-native and on-prem technologies supporting networking, security, data center, cloud, collaboration, and other technology areas.
- Ability to technically test and evaluate technology performance, efficacy, and integration capabilities.
- Experience in leading and supporting formal proof of concept and evaluation engagements to include test cases and methodology development.
- Experience with network and security performance testing equipment, both hardware and software (e.g., BreakingPoint and other Ixia products, Spirent/Mu Dynamics, Tomahawk, etc.)
- Ability to understand regulatory compliance: GLBA, SOX, PCI, HIPAA, and Assessment Services a plus.
Required Skills

- Proficient in server hardware configuration, deployment of MS Windows and Linux OS, and network administration for both systems.
- Understanding of SDLC, quality assurance, and their impact on product testing; scripting skills in languages such as PowerShell, Python, Java, etc.
- Expertise in automation with tools like Ansible, Terraform, or OpenTofu, and familiarity with DevOps practices.
- Experience with Observatory and DCIM tools like Sunbird, SolarWinds and Logic Monitor
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to work with third-party vendors, contribute effectively as a team member, and take on leadership roles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to obtaining necessary certifications.
- Results-oriented with a sense of urgency, attention to detail, organizational skills, and initiative in problem-solving.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge, consultative skills, passion for technology, and exceptional time management abilities.
Unique Requirements
- Position requires up to 25% travel to customer events, trainings, conferences and partner events
- Extended hours are required to complete some special projects.
Additional Information
- The estimated annual pay range for this position is $120,000 - $230,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
