We are looking for world-class technical talent to join our Applied Materials Technical Infrastructure team. This is an onsite position at our R&D site in Sunnyvale, CA.

Scope and Objectives:

The R&D Lab supports Applied Materials' most advanced semiconductor machines including supporting equipment and facilities infrastructure.

The position is a Facilities Electrical Engineer supporting tool installs, new factory upgrades, and site infrastructure. This includes pulling together new machine technical facility requirements, SOWs, cost analysis, quality parameters, projected durations, safety requirements, and resourcing requirements.

Job Description:

  1. Responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation, repairs, and planning of the facilities electrical distribution systems to ensure maximum safety and building uptime.
  2. Technically lead for design, installation, operation and maintenance of low, medium, and high-voltage electrical distribution equipment for new infrastructure projects.
  3. Review and audit Arc Flash and Breaker Coordination studies provided by design team to ensure compliance with applicable standards including National Electric Code, NFPA70E, OSHA, etc.
  4. Interfaces with internal and external customers regarding complex electrical issues for specific projects using verbal and written communications or presentations.
  5. Implement concepts for wide range of complex electrical systems solutions.
  6. Responsible for planning, budgeting and executing Year-end Maintenance activities.
  7. Interact with 3rd party IFM provider to ensure proper proposals, designs, installation, design documentation, operations and maintenance of electrical and applicable controls systems.
  8. Review operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, project commissioning and acceptance related documents for responsible facilities systems; recommend and implement improvements.
  9. Respond to business interruptions or internal customer escalations.
  10. Evaluate facilities system capacities and capabilities and review assigned points of electrical connection for new equipment.
  11. Review and approve facility systems, fit-up and tool hook-up designs.
  12. Review and provide written comments on design plans and specifications prepared by others.
  13. Problem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of complex electrical problems with limited to minimum or no supervision.
  14. Specify and/or perform engineering analysis of complex scope.
  15. Define, coordinate, perform and generate engineering test reports.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Skills: Arc Flash Studies, Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED), NFPA Codes, Title 24

Years of Experience: 4 - 7 Years

U.S. Salary Range: $124,000.00 - $171,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
