Lead Java Dev w/AWS (Hybrid)

The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Java Lead developer w/AWS to serve our diverse base of global clients. Location: Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC

Responsibilities

• Lead the design development and deployment of software applications using AWS, SQL, Spring Boot, Java, Spring MVC, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle from requirement analysis to deployment and maintenance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality code by conducting code reviews and implementing best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and QA engineers to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation to support ongoing development and future enhancements.
• Implement and optimize database solutions using SQL and MySQL to ensure data integrity and performance.
• Utilize AWS services to build and deploy scalable and secure cloud-based applications.
• Integrate front-end and back-end components using JavaScript and Spring MVC to create seamless user experiences.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve the development process.
• Contribute to the company’s purpose by developing software solutions that have a positive impact on society.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and data protection regulations in all software development activities.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Have a minimum of 10 to 12 years of hands-on experience in software development with expertise in AWS, SQL, Spring Boot, Java, Spring MVC, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Certifications Required

AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Oracle Certified Professional Java SE Programmer

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $81,337K - $141,500K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
