Continuous Improvement Engineer * Local
Position Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Continuous Improvement Leader to guide and enhance our site’s Continuous Improvement (CI) program. This role involves facilitating the identification, design, testing, and implementation of process improvements aimed at meeting our production, safety, cost efficiency, and environmental objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate with the operations and technical departments to identify and act on quality improvement opportunities with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide enthusiastic leadership and guidance for the site’s CI program.
- Facilitate internal and external efforts to identify, design, test, and implement process improvements.
- Work closely with operations and technical departments to pinpoint and leverage opportunities for quality improvements with customers.
- Train and lead plant personnel in Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Influence, gain commitment, and leverage best practices across all organizational levels.
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies for problem-solving and process improvement.
- Plan and lead waste elimination activities using the DMAIC methodology.
- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement teams and Kaizen events.
- Implement visual factory elements, including 6S, standardized work, and performance metric tracking.
- Use data to drive improvements and implement control plans to sustain these improvements.
- Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in line with product specifications and quality standards.
- Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.
- Focus on process improvement, problem resolution, and employee training.
- Lead Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement teams for manufacturing and support processes
- Maintain a goal-oriented, data-driven approach with a strong sense of urgency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading and guiding Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong ability to influence and gain commitment across various organizational levels.
- Demonstrated capability in planning and leading waste elimination and continuous improvement activities.
- Proficiency in implementing visual factory elements and data-driven process improvements.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Goal-oriented and data-driven with a proactive attitude.
- Close vision, and color vision ability required
- Safely and effectively lifting, carrying, and moving objects of varying weights
- Bending, stooping, reaching, balancing, standing, and walking for extended periods and maintaining the necessary physical dexterity and coordination
- Working in various environmental conditions, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, and noise levels at times
