Software Senior Principal Engineer

The products will cover a wide range of Dell/EMC products and applications and we are looking for senior level engineers to drive product development, enhancements, performance, scaling, and defect resolution. The additional responsibilities will include the ownership and resolution of triage the issues, address the software defects, drive software defects in other components to resolution, and work collaboratively across departments for a successful development, release, and support of integrated solutions.
What you will achieve
Responsibilities include developing new features for the Data Domain product offering as well as enhancing the product set to improve scaling, performance, high-availability, cloud integration, disaster recovery, and application integration. As part of the project responsibilities, you may also be developing test automation and automation framework modules and work collaboratively across Dell divisions to coordinate feature integration and product delivery.
You will:
- Scaleout and scale up support in virtual/physical distributed environment
- Optimization and Performance (I/O and control path)
- Analysis and Improving system performance
- Encryption and security
- Collaboration with Engineering Leadership, Product Management and Customers to troubleshoot and solve complex problems/Develop and review unit test procedures and work closely with QA to develop system integration test plans
Essential Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or related technical field with minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in UNIX/Linux/ POSIX based systems software development
- Excellent knowledge of developing system software using C and C++
- Solid understanding of Data Structures, memory management, algorithms, locking, design patterns, concurrency models, multithreading, parallel programming and asynchronous concepts
- Knowledge of distributed software systems, operating systems, file systems or embedded software
- Knowledge of storage networking protocols, connectivity, and architectures

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position: $220,000 to $280,000.
