UES is looking for a mid-level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Dallas office! This position entails working on geotechnical-related projects on the coordination and execution of geotechnical field explorations, laboratory testing, and evaluation of field and laboratory test data, geotechnical analyses, communication with our clients, and preparation of written geotechnical reports. This position will focus on the analysis needed for completing various reports, including pavement design and analysis, settlement analysis, design and analysis of driven pile systems, and slope stability analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepare various Geotechnical testing reports for clients
  2. Analyze and review testing reports for commercial, industrial, retail, government, and residential projects
  3. Project coordination and project management of Geotechnical work
  4. Responsible for managing Geotechnical projects through their lifecycle
  5. Assist project professionals with project execution, proposal and report preparation
  6. Coordinate required testing/sampling with drill crews and assist with field activities as necessary
  7. Interpret field data and assign laboratory testing
  8. Communicate results of field and laboratory testing, and geotechnical recommendations, to clients

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience as a Professional Engineer
  2. Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) for the State of Texas
  3. Bachelor's in civil engineering is required; Master's in civil engineering is preferred
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. Valid Texas driver license

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor's degree (B.S.) ABET or an accredited four-year college or university in civil engineering. Master’s level degree or exposure to core civil engineering disciplines through coursework (M.S. or Ph.D.) in geotechnical engineering preferred.
  2. Familiarity with modern office tools including the use of computer-based programs such as gINT, DARWin, SLOPE/W, VOLFLO, gSTABL, SLIDE, Microsoft Excel, etc.
  3. Must have a valid Texas driver license, and satisfactory driving record
