GPD is looking to add an experienced Site Development Engineer to our growing team of design professionals that work in a variety of market sectors nationally. Due to our organic growth and stellar reputation in the industry, GPD is excited to hire an individual that embodies the entrepreneurial spirit GPD is founded on. This person will share a passion for mentoring and developing a team while leading efforts with our site development projects as an experienced technical expert. We are hiring in our Northeast Ohio office locations: Akron or Independence/Cleveland, OH. GPD Group's site team works across all disciplines and market sectors like Power, Energy, Retail/Commercial, Federal/State, K-12 Education, and more.
Role Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional registration in the State of Ohio is preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience with site development design.
  • Extensive experience in land planning, sustainability, design, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in site parking lot design.
  • Confident ability working within AutoCAD Hydrographs and Hydraflow Storm Sewers (or other technical stormwater programs), with Storm and Sanitary Analysis being a plus.
  • Experience coordinating with different EPAs reviewing agencies and jurisdictions within various states for permitting approvals.General familiarity with construction administration.
  • Experience mentoring and empowering engineers newer in their career.
  • Enjoys taking on a leadership role not only as a technical expert in our field but as a servant leader in the community and within the company.
  • Thrives in a collaborative project environment and enjoys all forms of communications while working with clients and team members (virtual, in-person, phone).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration in our Site Development group provides the opportunity to interact with multiple stakeholders and in a wide variety of services that encompass our discipline in the development of site infrastructure projects: this includes complete A & E design, survey, field services like environmental, geotechnical and survey.
  • Technical oversight: overseeing the design process for site development and stormwater management, coordinating the permitting and jurisdiction applications/submittalsdata, and ensuring the newer engineers' work meets quality standards at GPD.
  • Mentoring and developing the Site Development team to further our success in the industry: this includes not only civil engineering and technical training but empowering those teammates to find their passion and skills in our industry and translating that to continued career success.
  • Administrative oversight: using Key Performance indicators, this includes developing, communicating, and tracking workflow tasks, scheduling, championing GPD's quality assurance and client standards, and ensuring that project documents are consistent with project plans and within scope and budget.
