We have been retained by our client, a growing AE Firm in the greater Charlotte area, to find a Civil Engineer. This position involves designing diverse projects such as site plans, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure, with a focus on military, commercial, and industrial construction. Responsibilities include preparing design plans, conducting site visits, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, and applying specialized knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics, and geology, especially in compliance with Department of Defense requirements.
Duties:
- Generate detailed specifications and precise cost estimates for construction projects to facilitate effective planning and budget allocation.
- Conduct site visits to analyze existing conditions, document vital observations, and collect essential data crucial for project planning and design.
- Develop civil site designs that integrate erosion control and stormwater management practices, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Contribute to the planning, design, and oversight of a variety of construction projects, encompassing new builds, renovations, and enhancements, while taking into account specialized requirements.
- Apply standard engineering techniques, assess consultant-prepared design drawings and technical specifications, and evaluate contract bids. Additionally, offer recommendations based on feasibility studies and provide support in managing construction projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 5+ years of design and/or construction experience
- Proficient in Civil3D, and AutoCad
Preferred Qualification:
- Microstation and HydraFlow experience a plus
- Military facilities design a plus
