Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry in Project Engineering at one of our Stoney Creek facilities. Job Summary & Reporting Structure: Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager To be familiar with and practice and promote all aspects of the ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949 Quality System and Health & Safety policies. Responsibilities: Provide Program Leadership and Customer Interface as assigned by PM and EM (APQP meetings, conduct paint/mould/assembly trials). Responsible for executing (Scope, Source, Design, Build, Validate, Launch) Secondary equipment with Production Dept input. Accountable for executing CMM/Gauge fixtures with Quality Dept input. Responsible for execute packaging (WIP and F/G). Prepare and present procurement documents and business cases for assignments. Develop and update Core documentation during launch. i.e. OIN, PFD, PFMEA. Assist & Maintain business documents (BOM, VSM, Asset Tracking, and Balance Sheet). Complete Pre-production builds and coordinate shipments of samples and equipment. Participate in upfront inputs in the areas of design analysis and costing. Work with suppliers to ensure design for manufacturability is being considered. Participate in customer meetings as required. Support with GR&R and capability studies or product and or equipment. Assist with cost validation at each APQP gate (cycle time, material cost, accuracy). Lead or Assist Special Projects and continuous improvement. Assist with new business development activities. Participate with other departments in identifying, analyzing and implementing corrective actions to non-conformances or production/quality problems. Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Program or Engineering Manager. EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS AND equivalent EXPERIENCE Education Required - Engineering degree/diploma-preferably Mechanical or Chemical Skills Required - Communication skills, Leadership, Project Management, Technical writing, APQP, Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, CAD Applications Equivalent Experience Injection moulding, painting, stamping and roll form and assembly processes, 3-5 years experience in program launches, Min 5-10 years experience in automotive production environment. Injection Molding Tool design and launch experience, JIT sequencing and new product cost estimating are considered strong assets.
