Job Overview
The individual will support an expanding operation to promote our next-generation prosthetic feet, ankles, knees, and legs. Using strong technical knowledge, experience, and leadership in building complex mechanical solutions, the candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of lower limb prosthetics from concept to launch. Support and collaborate with R&D, operations, sales, clinical, and other members of Proteor.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the design, development, and release of complex electromechanical systems.
- Plan, design, validate, and implement product changes.
- Provide engineering support to internal and external customers, including sales, clinical services, medical practitioners, and product users.
- Collaborate with Engineering team members to determine feasibility, scope, and feature sets for electro-mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of product development life cycle, including planning, hazard analysis, requirements analysis, detailed design, development, verification, and validation testing in a process-driven environment.
- Develop and implement design control procedures and design transfer to manufacturing, regulatory requirements, FDA, IEC, CE, ISO, and IEEE.
- Strong leadership, ambition, drive, and results-oriented
- Planning, prioritization, organizational, and communication skills.
- Structured problem-solving skills (e.g., Six Sigma, DMIAC).
- Strong ethics, a trusted team member.
- Expert knowledge of mechanical design, analysis, and FEA.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred).
- Five to ten years of relevant experience.
- Electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and actuator design experience desired.
- Experience developing verification and validation test plans for complex systems.
- Failure analysis experience desired.
- Prosthetic design experience desired
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods: sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to travel up to 5%; minimum of 1 time per year.
Salary Description
$115,000-130,000 DOE
