About the role:

At WiseTech, we operate a hybrid environment, and for this role, we are seeking a Senior Networking Engineer, experienced with critical network support within a Linux environment, both physical and virtual.
Day-to-day, this role will involve critical network connection operations support and network troubleshooting for our North American data center. The suitable candidate must have experience with BGP networking.
Whilst our teams work in a hybrid methodology, our data center is based in Schaumburg, IL; therefore, suitable candidates should live within a commutable radius of the data center.
Responsibilities:
- Provide critical network operations support to diagnose and mitigate data center network incidents;
- Troubleshoot network connection issues, including device configuration and low-level application interaction, minimize downtime across our suite of network infrastructure, leveraging advanced tools and methodologies to keep us ahead of disruptions;
- Contribute to the strategic vision of our network operations, assisting in the design and implementation of robust network solutions that enhance performance and reliability;
- Work cross-functionally, collaborating with the Information Service team internally and external teams to ensure network projects are executed effectively;
- Regularly analyze network performance, improve network connectivity from configuration adjustments and hardware upgrades to bandwidth management, ensuring the data center network meets the growing needs of the business;
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge and experience designing, engineering, and troubleshooting in data center and campus networks (spine-leaf networks are highly preferred);
- Advanced experience with designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting WAN/LAN technologies;
- Solid knowledge of routing and switching including Border Gateway Protocol (BGP);
- Knowledge of EVPN & VXLAN is highly preferred;
- Superior troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
- Good knowledge of Palo Alto, or equivalent enterprise-wide stateful deep packet inspection, application-aware modern firewalls (Palo Alto is preferred);
- Good knowledge of Linux network technology (FRRouting skills are highly preferred).
Desirable vendor product exposure - Cumulus Linux, Cisco, Meraki.
Vendor/Industry Certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
