Pure Power is looking for an Engineering Applications Manager to provide AutoCAD automation and development of engineering enhancements to improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will develop tools leveraging existing applications or creating in-house solutions. In this important role, you will be responsible for leading the automation of AutoCAD tasks, implementation of artificial intelligence solutions, and enhancement of engineering-specific software tools. This role will involve collaborating closely with engineering teams to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and develop innovative solutions to enhance our engineering services. The ideal candidate will support staff with AutoCAD issues and questions in our multiple offices.

Engineering Applications Manager Responsibilities

This position reports to and works closely with the Vice President of Operations and Director of Quality and Standards to ensure employees are provided with AutoCAD automations, applications, and support to perform their job responsibilities. This employee is expected to work well with outside service providers responsible for supporting the company's developed AutoCAD automations to transfer the development from the third-party resources to in-house resources.

  • Technical Development:
    • Develop and maintain software solutions using C# for integration with AutoCAD.
    • Design, implement, and test software components utilizing the AutoCAD object model and API.
    • Lead the development team in designing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions for AutoCAD tasks related to commercial solar installations.
    • Drive the research and development of artificial intelligence tools to improve engineering processes and enhance professional development opportunities for engineers.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and requirements, and effectively translate them into software features and functionalities.
    • Ensure the performance, reliability, and maintainability of software applications, considering scalability and efficiency.
    • Create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for enhanced user experience.
  • Engineering Enhancements:
    • Develop and automate AutoCAD processes to streamline engineering workflows.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify areas for improvement and develop software enhancements to address specific needs.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot existing engineering applications.
  • Project Management and Leadership:
    • Manage the development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
    • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Applications Development Architect and other team members.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in AutoCAD automation, artificial intelligence, and engineering software.
    • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to identify automation opportunities.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field.
  • Experience with AutoCAD automation and engineering application development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (C++, Python) relevant to engineering automation.
  • Strong computer and technology skills.
  • Excellent communication, research, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • High level of efficiency and accountability.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to build relationships with employees, including those in leadership roles and third-party vendors.

Location

This position will be based out of our exciting Hoboken, NJ Headquarters with the flexibility to work a hybrid in-office and remotely weekly schedule. We also provide a parking spot for the days when an employee wishes to drive to the office and for those that utilize public transportation, we will cover the costs associated with traveling to and from the office.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range

$125,000-$145,000 Annually
