Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced Training Improvement Engineer at our Kesselring Site in West Milton, NY! As part of the Kesselring Site Training Improvements group, you will have direct interaction with the Navy's top performing staff in developing nuclear operators for our nation's warships. The Training Improvement Engineer is responsible for evaluating and creating process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and content of NNPP training requirements. In this position, the Engineer analyzes, implements, monitors, and oversees all aspects of technical training, plant operations and refueling. The Engineer will be responsible for the proper daily operations of the plant and support equipment, ensuring proper maintenance of plant and support equipment, and training of naval and civilian personnel on both theoretical and operational aspects of nuclear plant operations utilizing reactors and state-of-the-art simulators or directs personnel during refueling operations as applicable. Conducts shutdown and start-up activities and in the event of an emergency, implements established emergency procedures. This position requires applicable qualifications and continued advanced technical training and refueling or plant qualifications.

All positions at the Kesselring Site includes participation in the Site's Emergency Response Organization.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and completed advanced qualifications as noted in the CTE/NOP/SRE Accelerated Pay Program

Preferred Skills

Experience in the conduct or oversight of student training
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills

Pay Range

$114,400.00 - $178,800.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
