Join Volley's mobile games team as a Senior iOS Engineer to lead the development of groundbreaking games and robust architectures. Utilizing Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI, you'll be pivotal in delivering innovative features and shaping our core apps for the future of voice-controlled gaming.

This job offers a hybrid work arrangement. We're seeking candidates comfortable with on-site attendance at our Bay Area office 2-3 times per week. We particularly encourage candidates who currently reside in or near the Bay Area or are willing to relocate for on-site work to apply.

What you'll do at Volley

  • Lead the development and set the technical direction of innovative Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI games focusing on speech recognition and voice interaction.
  • Architect and implement maintainable, high-quality apps that set the industry standards.
  • Work closely with the product and design teams, ensuring partnership and on-time feature development.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand user impact and make scope tradeoff decisions for successful partnerships.
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Analyze and optimize the stability and performance of our apps

Stuff you may have done before

  • Proven leadership in developing exceptional native iOS applications.
  • Agility in fast-paced environments, adept at delivering high-quality features in an ambiguous environment.
  • Familiarity with cross-platform development, especially Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • A strong passion for gaming and innovation in the game development space.

Must-haves

  • 6-9 years of native iOS engineering experience, with expertise in Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
  • At least two years of experience in a tech lead role, guiding projects and mentoring engineers.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality, maintainable code and scalable app architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners.
  • Integrate with the mobile team, contributing to our codebase and culture.
  • Lead feature deployment, enhancing user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Propose technical and architectural improvements to our roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the product team to drive key performance metrics.

  • Stage 3 (Onsite Interview) with various partners and teammates. This is a mix of iOS development, systems design, and collaboration with partners interviews

For Pay Transparency: The salary range that we expect to pay for this position is $164,000-$220,000 annually. This is a portion of the pay band for the role and level we are seeking. The final offer amount will depend on experience, education and skills. Base pay is only one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
