Job Requirements / Description

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight.

As part of a small passionate team working on engine fluid controls, you will own designs from concept through qualification, and be involved in all aspects of the development. You will design valve components, assemblies, and tools as well as mentor and lead some of our early career engineers to teach development approaches and techniques for fluid control systems. You will collaborate with program leaders, systems engineers, test groups, and other teams to select architectures and solutions which will provide the best benefit to our rocket engines. You will oversee testing of components, both on their own and within engine hot fire tests, to ensure valves are tested with high rigor and comply with their design requirements and design goals. You will help define and refine best practices for engine valves and mechanisms to increase the efficiency of our design approaches and processes. You will work with vendors to define requirements and manage supplier developments for common valves (check, solenoid, servo, etc) and feedback devices. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
