This position serves as a Senior Application Developer performing complex professional and advisory functions in Application Development Services within the Cornerstone Unit. In this role you will develop and maintain complex applications in web-based analysis and design methodology utilizing .NET, Visual Basic JEE stack leveraging industry best practices and standards. In addition, you will conduct in-depth studies involving substantial technical research and systems analysis of Children eCornerstone program functions and provide analysis to DHS program and/or DoIT/DHS management for development, maintenance and deployment of Family and Community Services Systems and the WIC Program. This position serves as project leader providing guidance, training, and direction to lower-level professional staff. Essential Functions

  • Under administrative direction, serves as a Senior Application Developer for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Department of Human Services (DHS).
  • Serves as project leader on highly complex projects.
  • Writes, debugs, tests, and documents new application or updates existing programs utilizing Change Management Software.
  • Confers with staff regarding requirements for Bureau of Application Management Systems.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Application Services or a related Information Technology field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of professional experience developing and maintaining applications in web-based design utilizing .NET, Visual Basic, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, or similar UI frameworks, relational database.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience leading projects in an Information Technology environment.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience writing, debugging, testing, and documenting applications utilizing Change Management Software.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present information to others with clarity and precision.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose system issues and coordinate efforts to resolve.
  • Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships.

Specialized Skills

  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience developing and maintaining applications in web-based design utilizing .NET, Visual Basic, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, or similar UI frameworks, relational database.
