The IT-OT Marine Systems Engineer will set up, configure, monitor, analyze, and maintain IT/OT systems in the maritime area. Enhance existing systems to ensure reliable connectivity between OT automation systems and IT systems. Implement new cybersecurity regulations. Identify and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues. Foster effective communication within the Carnival Corporation community.

Essential Functions:

  • Set up, configure, monitor, analyze, and maintain IT/OT systems in the maritime area.
  • Enhance existing systems to ensure reliable connectivity between OT automation systems and IT systems.
  • Implement new cybersecurity regulations.
  • Identify and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
  • Foster effective communication within the Carnival Corporation community.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology-engineering (or equivalent) and 5+ years’ experience in an engineering field. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Years & or Area of Professional experience: 5+ years of experience in industrial applications (marine, oil & gas, chemicals, power plants) e.g., information technology, telecommunication, industrial, process, electrical, software, automation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong IT background with an interest in OT technologies.
  • Experience with industrial control OT networks, emphasizing cybersecurity.
  • Proficiency in designing high-availability networks.
  • Deployment and maintenance expertise with security zones, managed switches, and remote access.
  • Knowledge of router/firewall programming, VM setup, network subnetting, and VLAN configuration.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC-UA, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, NMEA, PLC).
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills combined with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • As a global citizen, you embrace diversity and communicate fluently in English.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities. Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds. May need to stand for long periods.

Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely.

Work Conditions: Work may require the employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

This position is classified as 'in-office.' As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week, and the final schedule is determined by your leader. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
