So, what will you be doing all day? You would join us as a Mechanical Designer/Engineer working on things like:

1. Performing advanced calculations and designing engineering systems with a high degree of independence.
2. Leading design from concept to substantial completion.
3. Conducting research and asking questions when performing unfamiliar tasks.
4. Preparing basic to advanced system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
5. Reviewing shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
6. Performing research and making recommendations as to the feasibility of systems or equipment.
7. Assisting with developing, establishing, and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and customers in support of business development and/or pursuit activities.
8. Mentoring and training junior level engineers.
9. Assisting in the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications) for new buildings, and for renovations and additions to existing facilities as needed.
10. Providing coordination of project designs with other disciplines.
11. Communicating effectively with clients and being an outward-facing member of the design team.
12. Traveling to in and out of state project sites on an as-needed basis.
13. Setting up and coordinating efforts of other mechanical engineers working on the same project to complete tasks.
14. Coordinating with the project manager on staffing needs and issues for projects.
15. Actively coordinating the design with other disciplines working on the project.

We'd love for you to apply for this position if you:

1. Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering preferred (i.e., mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural) and 7 years of relevant experience, or 9 years of experience without a degree required.
2. Possess at least 7+ years of experience in mechanical design on commercial building projects.
3. Advanced proficiency in Revit required.
4. Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry codes, design guides, and standards required, as well as a broad understanding of other engineering disciplines.
5. Enjoy training and mentoring mechanical staff.
6. Possess excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills.
7. Have the ability to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining quality design.
8. Be inquisitive and have a curiosity to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
2. Completion of FE exam, LEED, and/or WELL accreditation preferred.
3. Knowledge/Understanding of programming languages, such as Python or C++ are encouraged but not required.
