We provide total building system design services across multiple high-growth markets for industry leaders. You'll get to use your talent to work on some of the country's biggest names in higher education, sports & venue, healthcare, grocery, restaurant, and retail.
So, what will you be doing all day? You would join us as a Mechanical Designer/Engineer working on things like:
- Performing advanced calculations and designing engineering systems with a high degree of independence.
- Leading design from concept to substantial completion.
- Conducting research and asking questions when performing unfamiliar tasks.
- Preparing basic to advanced system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
- Reviewing shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Performing research and making recommendations as to the feasibility of systems or equipment.
- Assisting with developing, establishing, and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and customers in support of business development and/or pursuit activities.
- Mentoring and training junior level engineers.
- Assisting in the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications) for new buildings, and for renovations and additions to existing facilities as needed.
- Providing coordination of project designs with other disciplines.
- Communicating effectively with clients and being an outward-facing member of the design team.
- Traveling to in and out of state project sites on an as-needed basis.
- Setting up and coordinating efforts of other mechanical engineers working on the same project to complete tasks.
- Coordinating with the project manager on staffing needs and issues for projects.
- Actively coordinating the design with other disciplines working on the project.
We'd love for you to apply for this position if you:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering preferred (i.e., mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural) and 7 years of relevant experience, or 9 years of experience without a degree required.
- Possess at least 7+ years of experience in mechanical design on commercial building projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit required.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry codes, design guides, and standards required, as well as a broad understanding of other engineering disciplines.
- Enjoy training and mentoring mechanical staff.
- Possess excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Have the ability to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining quality design.
- Be inquisitive and have a curiosity to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
- Completion of FE exam, LEED, and/or WELL accreditation preferred.
- Knowledge/Understanding of programming languages, such as Python or C++ are encouraged but not required.
