Position Overview:

The IT Build Engineer II is responsible for advancing the enterprise infrastructure technology by contributing to the design, evaluation, integration, implementation, and management of Broadway Bank's infrastructure and application technologies. This role works closely with the Lead Build Engineer, Lead Developers, and Data Architect to define and guide the direction of technologies, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies. Additionally, the IT Build Engineer II provides third-level infrastructure support when required and plays a critical role in the continuous improvement of the enterprise architecture.

Essential Functions:

  • Engineer, design, deploy, test, and administer infrastructure solutions, including both hardware and software components.
  • Proactively identify, design, and execute automation opportunities to enhance infrastructure operations.
  • Collaborate in the development of technical documentation and ensure infrastructure support activities are effectively handed over to Level 1 and 2 support teams.
  • Provide third-tier infrastructure support in situations where Level 1 and 2 teams require advanced assistance.
  • Respond to and resolve major infrastructure incidents, providing technical support bank-wide.
  • Lead efforts to build and maintain enterprise virtual and cloud-based systems, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Administer and manage Microsoft Windows Server environments, including server clustering and replication.
  • Support and troubleshoot multi-tier applications and ensure integration with Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Design, deploy, and manage SAN storage technologies to ensure robust data storage and retrieval.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of networking protocols such as SSL, SMTP, DHCP, DNS, and contribute to network-related initiatives.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across teams, vendors, and stakeholders, facilitating a unified approach to infrastructure management.
  • Lead technical efforts to adapt and integrate unified communications technologies, ensuring seamless voice and data communications.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve security measures, focusing on compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • This position may require travel within the Bank’s geographic area.

Experience & Education:

  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology, with 5+ years in build engineering activities for infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of experience with software installation and use, including desktop and server operating systems, network operating systems, and performing critical systems backups.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Distributed File System.
  • 3+ years of experience with Office 365, Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, and Azure tenant administration.
  • 3+ years of experience with building Azure servers and resources, setting up networking within Azure, and applying user permissions to Azure resources.
  • Proven hands-on experience providing Level 3 troubleshooting and debugging support for infrastructure issues.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another technology-focused discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills, demonstrating professionalism and the ability to build consensus across diverse technical disciplines.
  • Advanced knowledge with enterprise virtualization and cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server environments, including administration and troubleshooting of server clusters and replication.
  • Proficient in designing and managing Microsoft SQL Server environments, including database integration on Windows Server platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of SAN storage technologies and their implementation in enterprise environments.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly in troubleshooting multi-tier applications and complex system architectures.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills, with a focus on attention to detail and technical documentation.
  • Expertise in key networking protocols, including SSL, SMTP, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Familiarity with unified communications and voice communication technologies, with an ability to integrate these solutions into existing infrastructure.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Other Requirements:

  • Some travel required for on-site support or project-related activities.
  • Availability for nights and weekends as needed for critical system support or emergencies.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
  • Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
