Software Engineer - Simulators Mountain View, CA

MatX is on a mission to be the compute platform for AGI. We are developing vertically integrated full-stack solutions from silicon to systems including hardware and software to train and run the largest ML workloads for AGI. We primarily use the Rust programming language.

Responsibilities include:

• Create simulators to model and test the functionality and performance of our hardware.
• Work in partnership with our ML Research and Hardware Engineering teams.
• Adding features to the simulator and editing current features.
• Performance optimization: porting simulator to run on GPU.
• Adding diagnostics to simulator.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent degree, Masters or a few years of experience.
• Excellent software engineering skills, with a focus on high-performance code.
• Experience implementing simulators and golden reference models for hardware products.
• Interested in getting into hardware; curious individual.
• Somewhat of a computer architecture background.

Preferences:

• Experience optimizing software for specialized hardware, employing techniques such as parallelism, SIMD programming, C, or assembly-level optimization.
• Familiarity with Rust.
• Experience with computer architecture.

Compensation: The US base salary for this full-time position is $120,000 - $400,000 + equity + benefits.
