Principal Software Development Engineer (OCI)

We are the OCI Organizations-Management team. We own and operate a customer-facing service in the OCI console. Our service enables OCI customers to administer their hierarchies of tenancies, manage subscriptions across these tenancies, and securely configure these tenancies.

We're looking for a Principal Member of Technical Staff to help us build new features for our customers, operate our service and improve our engineering process.

As a member of the OCI Organizations-Management team, you will work with our product team and other engineering teams to define new features for our customers. You'll design those features and then write code to build and operate them. You will help operate our service, troubleshoot problems, and generally support our customers. You'll provide technical and project leadership to other software engineers on our team.

Qualifications:

• 6 - 10+ years of software engineering or related experience.
• Experience building and operating cloud services.
• Strong development experience with object-oriented programming, such as Java, and infrastructure as code languages, such as Terraform.
• Demonstrated strong ownership, solid communication skills, and a bias for action.
• Experience in leading projects and other engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Strong knowledge of C, C++ or Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python.
• Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
• Strong knowledge of databases, NoSQL, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Virtualization experience would be a huge plus.
• BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
