About being our Office Engineer
We have an exciting opportunity for an Office Engineer to join our collaborative Construction Services team. In this role, you'll provide essential technical support and manage various aspects of project administration, ensuring that all activities are executed efficiently and in alignment with project goals. With our team currently engaged in a range of impactful municipal projects, we're looking for someone who brings industry experience and a collaborative mindset to help drive continuous improvement within our department.

Responsibility Highlights for our Office Engineer
- Oversee and maintain comprehensive documentation on job sites, including contractor submittals, Records of Materials, Force Accounts, change orders, progress payments, project files, meeting agendas, and notes.
- Work independently and collaboratively to provide critical support to the department as needed.
- Facilitate general project coordination tasks to ensure smooth operations and timely completion.
- Develop and maintain a robust document control system, including version control, access permissions, and archiving.
- Collaborate closely with the Resident Engineer and Construction Observers to track key project metrics such as costs, schedules, and quality standards.
- Occasionally visit job sites to review progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications to be our Office Engineer
- Extensive knowledge of WSDOT Specifications, WSDOT LAG Manual guidelines, and WSDOT Construction Manual practices.
- 4+ years of experience in a related role within the construction industry.
- Willingness and ability to travel to job sites and work in field-based job trailers as needed.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans and specifications.
- Familiarity with federally funded project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications for our Office Engineer
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Civil Engineering, Construction Management).
- Hands-on experience with Procore, Excel, and other project management software.
