Overview:


The Project Engineer will join the Project Execution Team in major natural gas pipeline integrity, retrofits, pipeline replacement, and pipeline hydrotest transmission projects and planning distribution work. The engineer will report to client office location(s) and the company HQ. This position will require the engineer to travel within the Southern California territory.





Responsibilities:


Develops, coordinates, and directs development of work scope, cost estimates, budget, permits, design, material procurement and schedule for projects.





Designs and prepares engineering plans according to industry specifications and standards, and develops sound technical recommendations, in support of projects.





Reviews drawings produced internally or externally for constructability and accuracy at various stages of the project.





Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.





Works with Project Manager to select special design options to meet project objectives.





Leads and supports client meetings with outside stakeholders and vendors within the area of expertise.





Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases.





Ensures all work is completed in a safe, efficient, and quality manner.





Coordinates with project team to mitigate risks associated with project.





Evaluate the use of alternative assessment methods and assessment of outside support requirements.





Qualifications:


Requirements





Directly related Gas experience required.





Planning transmission or distribution work experience required.





Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited Engineering University or relevant project and field experience.





Minimum 2-8 years of experience in a large scale construction, engineering, or utility projects.





Knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD.





Possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams.





Ability to read and interpret technical documents; safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.





Display strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to work with a team.





Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.





Ability to write routine reports and correspondences to all levels of the organization.





Possess coachability, eager to learn with self-motivation and initiative.





Qualifications





Utility gas pipeline field experience in cathodic protection, construction, hydrotesting, installation, or other pertinent experience.





Familiarity with CFR 49 Parts 192 and 195.





Working experience with ASME/ANSI B314 and B31.8 codes and regulations.





Engineer-in-Training certification.





PE License or an ability to obtain a PE license.





Working knowledge of SAP and Citrix.

Wage Data Per State Requirements:


Salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
