Software Development Engineer, Sidewalk360

Sidewalk's Network Services Sidewalk360 team is looking for a Software Developer Engineer with the affinity to seek and solve challenging problems in distributed systems, cloud analytics, and data visualizations aiming to intelligently improve the customer experience across Amazon Sidewalk.

You will contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development, documentation, and operations. You have strong verbal and written communication skills, are self-driven, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. You have strong computer science credentials, are passionate about technology, and have a track record of building quality services. You know how to build and dive deep into back-end and front-end services. You intrinsically use technology to solve problems. Most importantly, you have a passion for learning and continuous improvement. We’re looking for people who innovate, love solving hard problems, and never take 'no' for an answer. Our engineers are top-notch software developers in the industry, who work hard, have fun, and make history. Ideally, you have hands-on experience in developing AWS cloud services, infrastructure, infrastructure as code, and running cloud operations. A successful candidate will need excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with other software developers and managers to help build solutions for managing a network that supports billions of devices while ensuring uptime, security, and performance.

About the team
Amazon Sidewalk is a new long-term effort to greatly extend the working range of low-bandwidth, low-power, smart lights, sensors, and other low-cost devices customers install at the edge of their home network. We believe customers shouldn’t have to settle for connected devices that lose functionality past the front door. With Amazon Sidewalk, customers will be able to place smart devices anywhere on their property and know the devices will work, even in dead spots where Wi-Fi and Bluetooth don’t reach, helping bridge the connectivity gaps around our homes! The Sidewalk360 team provides centralized network performance monitoring and tooling to ensure maximum uptime and reliability of the Sidewalk Network.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
