STARGATES supports a government customer in Systems Engineering for a portfolio of surveillance systems. Position Description: The Systems Engineer will support the Navy by supporting tasks in the areas of systems engineering; requirements definition, systems definition, analysis, and verification and validation, for a portfolio of surveillance systems. Primary duties include: * Support development and review of system performance specifications and system architectures by applying knowledge of electrical and mechanical hardware systems, sensor technologies and applications, and computing systems and software design * Facilitate Integrated Product Team (IPT) and technical review meetings * Participate in the review of technical data packages * Identify technical deficiencies, analyze problem reports, solutions, and provide recommendations * Evaluate and support existing systems life-cycle sustainment requirements * Contribute to the acquisition and development of next-generation sensor, processing, and systems to support the Navy's missions * Provide technical input to the development of contractual acquisition and procurement documentation * Review and evaluate requirements traceability, verification and validation documentation Position Location: On-site at Navy location in San Diego, CA Required Qualifications: * 7+ years of experience with systems engineering, engineering, or procurement for military systems * 3+ years of experience in a Navy Systems Command, Acquisition, or Integration Program Office or System Provider * Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, Physics, or Mathematics * Facilitate Integrated Product Team (IPT) and technical review meetings * Participate in the review of technical data packages * Ability to travel up to 10% * Active Secret Clearance Desired Qualifications: * 7+ years of experience in the Navy or supporting Navy programs * Experience in representing system architectures using Digital Engineering software and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts * Experience with developing system architectures and interface control documents * Knowledge of fiber optic communications systems or high voltage power distribution * Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional team environment * INCOSE Systems Engineering Certifications, including CSEP or ASEP * TS/SCI clearance
