Position Summary
The AWS Engineer supports development, modernization, and migration in support of a government multi-cloud environment. The AWS engineer will provide comprehensive systems administration functions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure to include support of AWS products such as: AWS Console root user administration, Key Management, EC2 Compute, S3 Storage, Relational Database Service (RDS), AWS Networking & Content delivery (VPC, Route 53, ELB, etc.) Identity & Access Management, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Cloud Formation, Auto Scaling, Cost and Usage Reports, and more. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Application activity and data modeling, transaction/workflow analysis, internal control, and risk analysis.
- Analyze and implement modern business methods and performance measurement techniques.
- Provide technical direction to personnel performing systems analysis and system/ subsystem development tasks.
- Coordinate and perform logical and physical systems design.
- Review and prepare system documents and specifications.
- Prepare reports, studies, and documentation, deliver presentations, and participate in meetings.
- Provide sound advice as to prioritizing projects or tasks and when to delay.
- Implement change and configuration management best practices.
- Enforce quality standards for engineered solutions and promote continuous improvement.
- Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
- Submit MSRs (weekly, monthly, etc.).
- Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 2 times per week, and respond accordingly.
- Complete required compliance training as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of AWS cloud technologies, experience using and deploying them, preferably in Government Environments.
- Exemplary communication, analytical skills, and technical knowledge across the client environment.
- Ability to produce concise and clear technical documentation.
Education & Work Experience
- 5+ years of integration, systems analysis, or programming experience.
- 3+ years of developing systems requirements and design specifications in AWS.
- Experience collaborating with technical teams of diverse IT related skill sets.
Certifications, Licenses
- Relevant AWS Certification required.
- AWS Certified SysOps Developer Associate preferred.
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate preferred.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional preferred.
- Relevant Agile Certification preferred.
- Other Certifications such as Red Hat Ansible preferred.
Special Requirements
Public Trust clearance is required.
