Job Summary
Better Being is looking for a Manufacturing & Packaging Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing and packaging processes and capabilities by studying methods, equipment, and facilities following established procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Recommends new manufacturing equipment, flows and processes to help improve safety, quality, yields, rates and efficiencies.
- Design, specify and lead capital projects for equipment installation and qualification.
- Assures equipment performs properly and meets performance and quality standards.
- Responsible for the selection, design, and testing protocols of all packaging and related materials
- Coordinate with internal teams (manufacturing, sales, marketing, regulatory and purchasing) and packaging vendors to find opportunities to reduce cost and improve performance, efficiencies and safety.
- Develop, design and test packaging including distribution testing.
- Extracts and manipulates information and data from various computer applications.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Ability to manage multiple demands and tasks and work with various departments in a high paced environment.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Qualifications:
- BS degree from a four-year college or university
- 3-5 years' experience in related manufacturing environment
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively collect, analyze and present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Computer knowledge required with demonstrated skills in Microsoft products, CAD, ERP. Scada
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee must exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
