Job Description

As a field service engineer, you will be asked to travel throughout your assigned service area with a company vehicle to build customer relations and apply your technical expertise to on-site projects as you oversee field service deliverables, establish operational quality, and assure customer satisfaction. You will provide customer support by performing on-site installation services and oversee any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. You will check out and approve operational quality of system equipment, instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system, and serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. You can expect day and overnight trips. You will report to the Territory Services Manager and work on the west coast of the US. Your work will be primarily remote, with travel to customers within the region.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. You will perform project management functions for customer projects including needs identification, scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
  2. You will provide services to support the installation, startup, maintenance, and operation of automation control systems and advanced manufacturing software applications, drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks, and the individual products that comprise these systems.
  3. You will evaluate and approve operational quality of system equipment and serve as company liaison to the customer for multiple topics.
  4. You will participate in the establishment, measurement, and achievement of customer satisfaction metrics.
  5. You will develop and write documentation (validation project plans, standard operating procedures, qualification summary reports, system audits, technical reports, traceability matrix, etc.).
  6. You will need to communicate with Rockwell Automation and customer management regarding project details.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology field.
  2. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  3. The ability to travel 50% of the time.
  4. A valid driver's license.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, Engineering, or Technology-related field.
  2. Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  3. 5+ years of experience in industrial automation in Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Metals, Water/Wastewater or others.
  4. PLC programming experience, using RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, and FactoryTalk Studio software.
  5. Studio5000, ControlLogix, CompactLogix experience.
  6. PowerFlex products and applications.
  7. Ethernet/IP, Stratix Switches experience.
  8. Servo/Motion control experience.
  9. Low Voltage PowerFlex Drives or Medium Voltage Drives experience.
  10. Multiple networks, including EtherNet, ControlNet, and DeviceNet experience.

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $99,520.00 - $149,280.00 with an annual target bonus of 5% of base salary. Our benefits for the US can be found here . Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.

This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation.
