Job Title: WebSphere Engineer
Location: Plano, TX OR Columbus, OH (Hybrid 3 days onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Must Have:
• WebSphere and WebSphere Liberty background, ZOS Platform
• Deep WebSphere admin background on ZOS platform
• Work with app team
• Building out Liberty and ZOS connect (Also known as ZCEE)
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
• Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, Java, C, C++, Go, JCL, REXX, PERL, PHP, JYTHON, zOSMF Workflows, J2EE, MVC, JDBC, Servlets, JSP, HTML, JQuery, AngularJS, JSON and XML
• Advanced experience working with two or more from the following: web application development, database, unix/linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, large scale software development, security software development
• Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with clear communication
• Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
• Strong knowledge of zOSConnect (aka zOSC or zCEE) on the mainframe. Build, configure and trouble shoot issues.
• Proficient across WebSphere (WAS) Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations), Design (compliance, security) and Connectivity (planning, securing)
• Strong knowledge of server side design patterns and continuous delivery principles
• Ability to articulate and share clear, concise complex technical findings to management in understandable terms
Intermediate/Strong proficiency in these key areas:
• WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and zOSConnect/zCEE
• JAVA
• TCP/IP, Certificates, AT-TLS, Keyring, Keystore.
• Experience with USS (dire)
Additional Skills:
• Knowledge and experience with zOSConnect (aka zOSC or zCEE) on the mainframe.
