Maintenance & Reliability Specialist/EngineerThis position will be located in Birmingham, ALJOB SUMMARYThis position will function as part of the Performance & Reliability Group within Fossil & Hydro Fleet Maintenance and Reliability.This position is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support and training and for providing strategic guidance to the generation fleet in the areas of Work Management & Planning and the consistent and effective use of Enterprise Tools (Maximo, Primavera, CiM Visual Planner). They will provide field support to address individual plant questions & concerns and will also play a key role in like-unit comparisons, identifying and communicating best practices, applying lessons learned across the fleet, and ensuring consistency, to improve processes and drive down repeat failures.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESWork with Generation Plants and Technical Services to improve the effective and consistent use of Enterprise Tools and the application of Work Management Processes.Support effective Reporting & Data Analysis across all Work Management & Asset Condition Monitoring tools.Provide formal and informal training to end users around work management processes and tools.Serve as the primary interface between Southern Company Generation Plants, Technical Shared Services, Enterprise Solutions Support, IT and other business units to identify improvements needed in Enterprise Tools and help establish priorities on changes.Actively participate in internal and industry user groups to stay abreast of latest work management practices and process enhancements. Test, validate, and implement improved processes for the fleet.Establish ongoing relationships and effectively communicate with all levels of plant and corporate employees and management, vendors, peer groups, and subject matter experts.JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or a 2-year or 4-year Technical Degree is preferred, however appropriate experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeA thorough understanding and working knowledge of Work Management processes and tools is required.Detailed understanding of Equipment Reliability Processes in power plants or relevant industry experience in Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, equipment systems, and processes is required.Proficiency with Microsoft Office application tools is required.Experience with data management techniques to access, integrate, analyze and report data from multiple sources is desired. Working experience with Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Reporting Services or similar programs is highly desired.Experience in organizing and managing multiple projects at the same time.
