It is the mission of Manufacturing Engineering is to lead the development, implementation, and support of production systems and processes to verify and drive improvements in the quality of our products.
High Level Statement of the Role
Participate in internal design activities with respect to design for manufacturability, identification of undefined or high-risk processes and specification of custom or one of a kind equipment. Assist program management, customers and management in the development of budget, resource and timing information for all programs.
High Level Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop robust 4+ Sigma processes and use Lean principles to reduce waste
  • Research, evaluate, and make equipment recommendations to Engineering Manager
  • Leads tooling development with tooling suppliers and applies proven mistake-proof techniques
  • Responsible for completing all assigned Engineering Change actions
  • Responsible for documenting and administering equipment specific OJT level training to fellow employees
  • Work with various area Supervisors and Engineers in resolving production issues
  • Work with area management to promote adherence to quality systems
  • Seek out continuous improvement opportunities to reduce cost or increase throughput
  • Responsible for processing DFM requests using Valor and Silicon Expert software
  • Responsible for creating and updating CAD drawings including printed circuit board and floor plan layouts
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Reaching (overhead) - Monitor Adjustments for Equipment occasionally
  • Reaching (at/below shoulder level) - Various - usually into machines to inspect process/product materials

  • B.S. Degree in Electronics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
  • 3 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in an electronics manufacturing facility required
  • Ability to use Calipers, Thermal Recorders, Software (Cam350, Autocad, Circuit Cam), Thermal indicators, Viscosity Measurement Tools, Stop Watch, Red Pen, Micrometers, Digitizer, Scales, PC's and various OS's, General Hand Tools (e.g. crescent wrenches, allen wrenches, torque wrenches)
  • Ability to use of computers and associated peripherals
  • Familiar with a large variety of electronics manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong mechanical and electronics knowledge
