Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Sr Mainframe Developer to fill an open position with one of our banking clients. The Sr Mainframe Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, configuring, and providing technical support for mainframe technology. They will manage the product lifecycle to ensure operational availability, analyze capacity and performance data, and fulfill engineering responsibilities in mainframe languages and development tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as mainframe Subject Matter Expert (SME).
• Participate in infrastructure planning and provide insight into the future of mainframe technology.
• Establish, maintain, and document mainframe language and development tools directions and technology roadmaps.
• Coordinate cross-departmental projects involving mainframe application migrations.
• Demonstrate broad technical knowledge of multiple technologies or in-depth knowledge of one technology.
• Maintain awareness of new developments in the mainframe domain and apply emerging concepts quickly.
• Form productive networks with internal and external customers, vendors, and peers in the industry.
• Ensure proper documentation of complex technical systems for effective handover to operations.
• Lead implementation efforts, including vendor proposal analysis, project planning, coordination, testing, and progress tracking.

Qualifications:

• Technical Degree or related work experience.
• Knowledge and experience in multiple disciplines within the mainframe domain.
• Strong application design and development skills.
• Expert knowledge of the Mainframe Operating System and Hardware.
• Mainframe Storage Concepts.
• TSO/E.
