ProSidian Seeks a Mechanical Process Engineer - Engineering (DS113) to support an engagement for a liquid waste contractor (Savannah River Remediation (SRR)) at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, which is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Responsibilities:
Mechanical Process Engineer - Engineering (DS113) candidates provide engineering support services on assigned SRR Engineering Teams. Responsibilities include:
- Engineering analysis, design development, and generation of design output documents, including but not limited to:
- Process Flow
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
- System Descriptions
- Mechanical Equipment Lists
- Mechanical Equipment, Pipe, and Valve Specifications
- Failure Analysis
- Accident Analysis
- Finite Element Analysis
- ASME Code Design and Evaluation
- Pipe Stress Analysis
- Material Handling Design
- Fire Protection Design
- HVAC Design
- Vendor Document Reviews
Individuals may be required to travel off-site to interface with vendors, fabricators, and other Engineering organizations.
Education:
BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
Experience/Skills:
Candidate must demonstrate:
- Five (5) years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.
- Knowledge of ASME B31.3 code requirements.
- Experience in 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred.
- The ability to walk down systems in the field.
Work Hours:
A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules, including 5/8s, 4/10s, and 9/80s. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch.
Area Security Access: A security clearance is not required.
