JOB DESCRIPTION
An employer in Chattanooga, TN is looking to hire a Senior Geotechnical Engineer. While in the office this person will be making phone calls to clients, writing reports, collecting information needed to a proposal and then writing the proposal. They will also be responsible for assigning field work, bringing soil samples back to the office, characterizing soil samples collected and assigning lab work. From there , they will be taking the information they gathered when evaluating the soil writing the reports and submitting those reports to the client. Along the way this person might receive questions from the client so they will be responsible for consulting with the client on the recommendations they provided for the site while mentoring junior staff members. They will be in the field 5%-25% of the time.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in geotechnical/civil engineering
- Ability to perform site assessments as needed
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Geological)
- Active Professional Engineer License (does not need to be in Tennessee)
- Willingness to relocate to the Chattanooga area
