Qualcomm's XR Architecture Team is seeking an experienced Power Analysis Engineer who is passionate about solving power challenges and developing innovative solutions for optimizing power for next generation Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) SoCs. Working as part of an AR/VR system architecture team, this engineer will drive pre- and post-silicon power analysis and optimization projects across Qualcomm's AR/VR SoC roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Working with a cross-functional team to understand AR/VR use case requirements, dataflows, and HW/SW partitioning.
2. Develop novel power optimized architecture designs.
3. Implementation of power models for multimedia and other compute IP cores.
4. System level power analysis of various complex use cases.
5. Work with the HW and SW teams to verify the implementation of power features, and validate power at various design steps.
6. Work with multiple teams during commercialization to correlate power and meet power targets.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master's or Doctorate in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of professional experience in the following areas is preferred.
2. Experience working with power analysis, optimization, or modeling at a detailed level.
3. Experience with multimedia technology and IPs (Camera, Video, Computer Vision, AI accelerators).
4. Knowledge of hardware and software factors affecting SOC power (power impact from use cases, architectures, power saving features, firmware/software algorithms, operating frequency, and voltage modes).

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
2. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
3. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
4. *Works in the lab, can use hazardous chemicals (e.g., glue, machinery).

Pay range:

$97,000.00 - $145,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
